“Anna Schulze is a refreshing update on the singer/songwriter. She plays electric guitar, sings from the heart, and brings energy and passion to the stage. She simmers and shimmers somewhere between power pop and emo rock, and her melodies evoke the great American summer…” ~ Glen Ballard
Anna Schulze is a multi-faceted songwriter, artist, and producer.
A Minnesota native, Schulze began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 9. She moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to study songwriting performance at the University of Southern California where she worked with mentor and Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter, Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette, Michael Jackson, Katy Perry).
At the age of 26 she has 5 solo releases, and her songs have been featured in the Oscar-winning documentary "Icarus" as well as on MTV ("Awkward) and CBS ("The Young & The Restless").
Her latest release "Pickford Market" was coined by No Depression Journal as “genuine, dynamic, and insightful” and was featured in Buzz Bands LA’s "Favorite 101 Songs of 2016." Schulze has also appeared on Morning Edition and The Current and opened for the Beach Boys.
Her most recent collaboration project “Roscoe & Etta” is named after the cranky old guitars of her and artist/songwriter, Maia Sharp (Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Bonnie Raitt). Their first single “Broken Headlights” will be released June 15th everywhere. Visit their website for more release information & tour dates.
